Why now
The discovery layer changed. Most brands didn't.
In two years, search-and-discover behaviour bifurcated. Buyers still Google many things, but for "what's the best X for Y?" they increasingly ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity — and act on the two-to-five names that come back. Google's own AI Overview now answers a significant share of commercial queries before a user reaches a blue link.
None of the existing toolchains saw this coming. Rank trackers report Google positions; backlink tools report Google authority; analytics tools report Google referrals. They all share one assumption that 2026 broke: that the SERP is where attention lands. For an increasing share of buyer journeys, the SERP isn't the destination — the AI answer above it is.

Tarun Sahnan, founder.
Tarun is the founder of Citovo. He's building the platform because the existing tool stack didn't have an answer to "is my brand visible in AI search?" — and the brands paying for SEO deserved one. Citovo combines what used to be a five-person agency pod into a single AI-native system: measurement, audit, content, links, and reporting in one loop.
